DONALD PERRY, 59, of East Lynn, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born September 10, 1951 in Wayne County, West Virginia, and was an active member of the East Lynn Baptist Church.
His father Ivan Perry preceded him in death along with one son, Christopher Damon Perry.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Sarah Perry; his mother, Deloris Eilleen Perry of East Lynn; one brother Avra Perry and wife Donna of Lavalette, W.Va.; three sisters, Vella Ann Thompson of Williamson, W.Va., Louella Perry and husband Sam of Wayne, W.Va., and Connie Clay and husband Gary of Branchland, W.Va.; and a host of nephews and nieces whom he loved.
Funeral services will be conducted noon on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Perry and Paul Tuemler officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens with Samuel Perry, Jamie Clay, Travis Clay, Michael Eaves, and Patrick Eaves serving as pallbearers. MS. KATHIE KAY WILLIAMSON, 55, formerly of Kelly Knob, W.Va. died December 22, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born November 7, 1955, the daughter of the late Ira Williamson and Minnie Adkins Perry. If youve ever wondered what faith and strength are, then you should have known our sister who faced many tragedies while holding firm to her faith in God. Kathie was a nurse and mother of four children.
She was preceded in death by her son Harold Horn Jr., sister Virginia Hazel Williamson, and her brothers Roscoe Larry Williamson, Steve Williamson, and Buck Williamson.
Survivors include her children Joshua Smith of Parma Heights, Ohio, SGT. Timothy Smith and wife LT. Kara Bennington Smith of Carey, Ohio, and Sharon Horn of Crum, W. Va.; two grandsons Austin Runyon and Roger Waller of Crum; six sisters: Mary Chapman of Senoia, Ga., Victory Ramey of Crum, Tammy Williamson of Grey Eagle, W. Va., Dorothy Ann LeRoy of Harker Heights, Texas, Dianna Williamson of Huntington, W.Va., and Brookie Brewer of Kelly Knob; five brothers, Bill M. Williamson of Gibsonville, N.C., Rick Williamson of Chattanooga, Tenn., Lark Williamson, Frank Ed Williamson, and Arthur L. Williamson of Kelly Knob-Wilsondale, W.Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010, at Johnson-Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne, W.Va. with Pastors Eddie Smith and Mike Dillon officiating. MR. JOHN ADAMS, 72, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2010. He was born May 13, 1938 in Wayne County, a son of the late Audie and Louisa Adams. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Jack Adams, Lucian Adams, Virgil Adams, and Norman Adams, and two sisters, Inez Adkins and Della Isaacs. John was a retired plumber and a member of the Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jewell Adams; his children, Donna Adams of Genoa, Pamela Frye and her husband Randy, of Genoa, Amanda Maynard and her husband Kevin of Lavalette, W.Va., John Adams, Jr. and his wife Christy of Genoa, and Michael Adams; seven grandchildren, Candice Daniels and husband Mark, Megan Frye, Beldin Frye, Timothy Thompson, Cody Maynard, Johnathon Adams, and Andrew Adams; six great grandchildren, Katie Frye-Trautwein, John Hunter Daniels, Hayden Daniels, Gavin Daniels, Addison Bowen, and Autumn Bowen.
Also surviving are six sisters, Erie Frazier and husband Paul, Minnie Cochran and husband George, Donna Isaacs and husband Chuck, Rhoda Morton and husband Edward, Sadie Jacobs and husband Troy, and Teresa Clay and husband Robert; and seven brothers, Robert Adams and his wife Nettie, Boyd Adams and his wife Arleda, Orville Adams and wife Shirley, Audie Adams, Jr., and wife Nancy, Sammy Adams and wife Bobbi, Omer Adams and wife Connie, and Sampie Adams and wife Doris; and a host of friends and neighbors too numerous to mention.

She was born October 5, 1939 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Howard and Vada Williamson. Her husband, Harold Lee Dilley, also preceded her in death along with two sisters, Alta Mae Porter and Patricia Spence, and on brother, Fern Williamson.
She leaves behind two sons, David Dilley and his wife Stacey of Ashland, Kentucky, and William Dilley and his wife Amy of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Garnett Dunfee of Lavalette; six grandchildren, Becky, David, Zion, Emma, Josh, and Ashton; and three great grandchildren, Braiden, Haden, and Maggie.
Also surviving is one sister, Loretta Williamson and her husband Curtis H. of Wayne, W.Va.; two brothers, Perchie Williamson and his wife Doris, and Drewie Williamson and his wife Sandra, all of Proctorville, Ohio; and a host of friends and family.

MELVA MAE STEELE, 68, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 2, 2010. She was born November 28, 1942 in Logan County, a daughter of the late John and Matilda Lambert. Her husband, Emery Steele also preceded her in death along with one daughter, Linda Sue Steele, and three sons, Emery Steele, Jr., Larry Joe Steele, and an infant son.
Melva dearly loved Gethsemane United Baptist Church where she attended when able.
Survivors include four daughters, Ruby Adkins and husband Toby of Prichard, W.Va., Anita Suzette Willis and husband Christopher of Lakeland, Fla., Frances Davis and husband Jay of Branchland, W.Va., and Kathleen Witt of Wayne; one son, Frank Edward Steele and wife Francis of Wayne; one sister Clarissa Clark and husband Earnest of Mulberry, Fla.; 12 grandchildren: Krystal Adkins, Kimberly Martin and husband Dennis, Jessica Rose DeMaris, Justin DeMaris, Michael DeMaris, Samantha DeMaris, Frank Steele, Wesley Davis, Cassie Davis, James Witt, Jason Witt, and Russell Witt; eight great grandchildren; and several loving nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors, whom she loved dearly.

WILLIS DWIGHT MARCUM, 65, of Crum, W.Va., passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 in Huntington, W.Va. He was born May 25, 1945 in Marion, Va., a son of the late Elmer and Pauline Horne Marcum. Two brothers, Ronald Marcum and John David Marcum also preceded him in death.
Willis was a retired school bus driver for the Wayne County School District.
Survivors include his twin brother, Douglas W. Marcum of Crum; one aunt, Roberta Horne Broome of Bristol, Tenn.; 12 cousins; and his dog Toby and cat Julie.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Silver Creek Church, Crum, with Pastor Otis Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum-Salmons Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home.

He was born July 30, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio, the beloved son of Virgil and Betty Browning. In addition to his parents, survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Robert Miller and Jeannie and Jakie Vaughan; two nephews, Donald Browning and his wife Lilly, and Michael Vaughan and wife Camillia; four nieces, Melissa Aliff, Crystal Vaughan, Samantha Miller and Stephanie Staley.
Also surviving are eight great-nephews, Dylan Burnette, Chase Vaughan, Justin Perry, Jarrod Perry, Steven Sergent, Brian Garn, Brandon Schwalback, and Ishmeal Schwalback; two great-nieces, Abigail and Madison Browning; and a host of aunts, uncles and many friends.
Willie carried a deep love for Jesus that he used to warm the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. Willie is no longer bound to a wheelchair, but instead he is walking down the streets of gold in heaven.

She was born on November 25, 1931 in Wayne County to the late Davis and Georgia Cyrus Copley. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Grady Copley, Charles Copley, Frank Copley, and Infant John Thomas Copley.
Ruth was united in marriage to Robert "Bobby" Crockett of East Lynn on June 18, 1948. To this union was born two daughters: Linda Starkey and husband Roger and Georgia Phyllis Boettcher and husband Abraham; five grandchildren, Obie Adkins II and wife Lisa, Roger Starkey II and wife Claire, Todd Adkins and wife Crystal, Eleasha Ruth Adkins, and Robert Starkey and wife Kim.
Great grandchildren include Amanda Mays, Caleb Mays, Kaleigh Humphries, Ryan Hunter Starkey, Andrew Cole Starkey, Devon Paul Starkey, Gage Colton Starkey, Jessica Taylor Starkey, Ashley Adkins, Emily Adkins, Jarod Adkins, and Erica Adkins in addition to two great- great grandchildren, Kiera and Kaden.
Also surviving is one brother, Reuben Copley and wife Violet; three sisters, Lucille Wilson of Genoa, Elizabeth Watts and husband Russell of Echo, and Opal Fleming of Perry, Georgia; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lester Austin.
Ruth was a member of the Echo Baptist Church in Wayne and Orchard Hill Baptist Church in Georgia. She was also a member of the American Association of Nursing. Mrs. Crockett worked many years as a nurse in both West Virginia and Georgia until she was 72 years old. She was the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She dearly loved her Lord and all her family.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, with Pastors Roger Maynard and Roger Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Crockett Cemetery on Wilson Creek. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born April 26, 1941 in Kanawha County, W.Va., the eldest son of the late Harry E. and Alma Thomas Boyce. Two sisters, Joann Boyce and Louise Lawson also preceded him in death, along with one brother, Lester Boyce.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Della Napier Boyce; three sisters, Karen Erskine of Sophia, W.Va. Francis Patton of Tampa, Florida, and Janice Burns of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Bill Erskine and Bill Burns; special friends Delores Jarrell, Herman Perry, and Denny and Donna Blankenship; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed proudly served in the US Army, stationed with the 1st BN, 4th INF. RGT., 3rd INF. DIV. as a heavy weapons specialist, stationed in Germany during the Cold War, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home under the direction of the Rev. John McSweeney and the Rev. O. F. Adkins. He was born April 11, 1936 in Wayne, a son of the late William Oliver Dean and Ethel Pratt Dean. His first wife, Marlene Crockett Dean also preceded him in death along with one daughter, Brenda Ann Donovan, one son, James Allen Dean, and one granddaughter, Justina Nicole Dean.
Everett was a retired truck driver and a member of the House of Worship Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Napier Dean; one daughter, Sondra Arletta Dean and husband Robert Tucker of Wayne; two sons, Everett Ray Dean Jr. and wife Connie of Cleveland, Ohio, and William Andrew Dean of Wayne; eight grandchildren, Crystal Cumberledge and husband Ross, Everett Ray Dean III, Taylor Dean, Autumn Radabaugh, all of Cleveland, Christopher Donovan, Amanda Donovan, both of Amherst, Ohio, Cody Dean of Columbus, Ohio, and Olivia Dean of Wayne; six great grandsons whom Everett was very proud of, Jordan Dean, Alex Dean, Gabin Donovan, Jakob Stone, Mason Cumberledge, Darren McGuire and a seventh great grandson on the way.
Also surviving are eight step-children, Diane Goodnight and husband Jerry of Cleveland, Brian Helmondollar of Hurricane, W.Va., Sandy Toney and husband Mark of Wayne, Leslie Helmondollar and wife Nancy of South Point, Ohio, twins Patrick Farley and Perry Farley, both of Va., and twins Billie Farley of Fla., and Becky Nathenson and husband Jim of Va.; 21 step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Everett also leaves behind three brothers, Gary Dean, Ronnie Dean, and Oliver Dean, all of Wayne; and two sisters, Deloris Adkins of Wayne, and Jewell Chambers and husband Ken of Hager Hill, Kent; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

CLIFFORD WARD, 78, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 23, 1932 in Wayne, a son of the late Homer and Mary Welsh Ward. Two sisters, Betty Jo Terry and Josephine Ward also preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his wife, Dorothy Ward; two sisters, Juanita Wellman and husband Bill of Huntington, W.Va., and Mary Ward also of Huntington; one brother, Homer Ward and wife Evelyn of Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Casteel officiating. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ward family.

NORMA JEAN SHOPE BLANKENSHIP, 81, of Wayne passed away Thursday morning November 11, 2010. She was the wife of the late Jay Blankenship and the mother of the late Charles A. Leibee of Huntington. She has two surviving sons, James Michael Blankenship of Suffolk, VA; Paul David Blankenship of Jackson, OH and two surviving daughters, Pam Blankenship of Wayne; Joann Blankenship of Fort Myers, FL. Grandchildren include Parker Earp of Wayne, Heather, Holly and Joshua Blankenship of Suffolk, VA; Beth, Molly and Jay Blankenship of Jackson, OH ; two surviving sisters, Bert Niner and JoeAnne Hidy of OH. Graveside service will be held for the family at a later date. Her family also wants to thank the nurses and staff of Huntington Health and Rehabilitation for the care given to the entire family. He was born February 3, 1929 in Penn Township, Ohio, a son of the late Lawrence and Lucille McInturf. His wife, Edna Canady McInturf also preceded him in death along with one sister, Grace Kline and three brothers, Albert, Wayne, and Ralph.
Ronald served in the US Army and at 54 years old he was baptized at the Solomon Lutheran Church in Eagleport, Ohio, where he attended. He loved helping friends and family and especially enjoyed woodworking and making things.
Survivors include daughters, Debbie VanDorston, of North Canton, Ohio, Brenda Young of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Dolley (Joe) Koval of Helena, Ohio, Darla (Kenny) Kerms, also of New Philadelphia, Nancy (Tony) Cozad of New Lexington, Ohio, Valerie Lynn Tuten of Beverly, Ohio, step-daughters, Rose Marie (John) Harra of Newark, Ohio, and Belinda Sue Murphy of Zanesville, Ohio; and two sons Marcus Roy (Cheryl) Canady of Fleming, Ohio, and John Glenn (Jane) Canady of Zanesville; special and best friend Patsy Watts of Huntington; and caretakers Kate Williamson, Monica Scotts, and Connie Ferguson.

JAMES W. BRADSHAW, 86, of Wayne, W.Va. went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 4, 2010. He was born September 16, 1924 in Wayne County, a son of the late Golden and Naomi Bradshaw.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Vida Simpkins Bradshaw of Wayne; two sons James Bradshaw and wife Linda of Lavalette, W.Va., and Roger Bradshaw of Wayne; one grandson, Jeffrey Scott Bradshaw and two great granddaughters, Shannon Bradshaw and Summer Bradshaw all of Florida.
Also surviving is one brother George Bradshaw and wife Zelma of Wayne; special nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors too numerous to mention.

LEROY MONROE "Jimbo" RAMEY, JR., 30, of Branchland, W.Va., died Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1979 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Ethel Vance Ramey and Leroy "Jim" Ramey, Sr. also of Branchland. His sister Donna Jean Pritchard Eastham and his brother Ronnie Pritchard preceded him in death along with maternal grandparents, Grover and Martha Merritt Vance; paternal grandparents Emma and Homer Ramey; and one cousin, Dallas Morrison.
In addition to his parents, Jimbo is survived by one brother, Donavin "Donnie" Pritchard Jr.; three aunts, Jean Morrison, Betty Adkins and Wilma Stewart; three uncles, Grover, David, and Darrin Vance; five nieces, Sarah Bryant, Brandy Donahue, Millie Eastham, Martha Eastham, and Emma Pritchard; one nephew, Clyde Eastham; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and many, many cousins.
Jimbo was loved by everyone and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Marcum officiating. Burial followed in the Ramey Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday evening.

KENNETH R. SKINNER, 67, of Ft. Gay, W.Va., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 29, 2010. He was born November 8, 1942 in Athens, Georgia, a son of the late Roscoe and Gertrude Skinner. One brother, Johnny Skinner also preceded him in death along with one sister. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Piedmont Golf Course in Georgia.
Survivors include one sister, Voada Vatson; one brother, Maxie Skinner, both of Georgia; one daughter, Roxanne Payne and two grandchildren, Rachel and Adrian Payne, all of Tenn.
Also surviving is ex-wife and caregiver, Carrie Skinner of Ft. Gay; two stepsons, Carl Russell of Wayne, W.Va., and Dave Russell of Ft. Gay; caretaker Linda Kirk of East Lynn, W.Va.; and special friend Brenda Adkins.

RICHARD STANLEY MCGUE, 76, of Huntington, passed away Monday, October, 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born November 11, 1933 in Huntington, a son of the late Herman and Elma McGue. Richard served in the US Army and was a retired mechanic. Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Smith and husband Jerry of Plant City, Fla.; two sons, Richard McGue II of Tampa, Fla. and Jeffrey McGue and wife Betty of Valrico, Fla.; and 4 grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Jerry McGue of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Patricia Timler and husband Bob of Lesage, W.Va., and Judy Dean of Prichard, W.Va.; and special friend Ron Myers of Huntington. ROGER ALLEN MILLER, 39, of East Lynn, W.Va., passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 6, 2010. He was born on August 14, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio. Roger was preceded in death by his father Aubrey Lee Kirk.
Survivors include his mother, Bertha Elizabeth Cooley Kirk; one sister, Shirley (Paul) Tanner of Lavalette, W.Va.; one brother, Carl (Shiela) Cooley of East Lynn, W.Va.; three nieces, Casey Owens, Geneva Miller, and Jessica Toppings of East Lynn; five nephews, Paul Tanner, Jr., Nathan Miller, Christopher Welford, Richard Welford and Justin Welford of East Lynn; and a host of friends, aunts and uncles too numerous to mention. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Steven Sollazzo for all of his kindness and support to the family during this trying time.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lydia Jane Clark Mills; two sons and their wives, Donald (Mary) Mills of Ashland, KY, and Steven (Pam) Mills of Salt Rock; four daughters and their husbands, Carol Russell of Huntington, Teresa (Larry) Carico of Wayne, Janice (Gerald) Maynard of Wayne, and Kathy (Faron) Miller of East Lynn; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a host of special friends and family. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Hospice of Huntington, and to three special sisters-in-law, Sue Clay, Lois Clark and Margaret Adkins.
"Bush" was a veteran of the Korean War, a self employed truck driver and was a member of the Liberty United Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and enjoyed farming and going to the auction.

Marie was a member of Old Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Olive (Copley) Artrip; her husband James C. Robertson; two daughters Janet Childers and Jacqueline Robertson; four sisters Estelle, Fern Mildred and Louise; and one brother Don.

TRENT BOYES, 81, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. He was born on April 10, 1929 in Fort Gay, W.Va. Trent was a carpenter and served in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Emmett Boyes and Ella Belle Trent Boyes; two sisters, Opal and Betty; and five brothers, Emmett, Nelson, Ralph, Paul and Raymond.

JAKE CLARK, 87, of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 4, 2010. He was born March 16, 1923 in Marigold, W.Va., a son of the late Samuel and Stella Clark. He served in the US Army in WWII and was a Forest Fire Warden for Wayne County. He had also worked in Pennsylvania as a coal miner, Spring Hill Dairy where he delivered milk, and retired as a self employed general contractor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Price Clark; four infant children; one brother, one sister, and one great granddaughter.
Survivors include four daughters, Rose Perry, who was also his primary caregiver, and her husband Harmon of Huntington, Linda Melde and husband Rainard of N.Y., Peggy Thierry and husband Robert of Genoa, W.Va., and Katie Clark of East Lynn, W.Va.; three sons, Lewis Clark, Jerry Ray Clark, and Derek Allen Clark, all of East Lynn; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; and 4 step great-great grandchildren. MYRTLE G. PACK, 96, resident of Colonial Manor, Loudonville, Ohio, formerly of Wayne, W.Va., died Friday, July 2, 2010, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Pack was born June 13, 1914 in Wayne, W.Va., the daughter of the late William and Liz Trogden. Her husband, Drewie Pack, also preceded her in death, along with two daughters, Lois Russell and Phyllis Pack. She was a resident of Wayne all her life and had many friends. She will be so sadly missed by her family, including her five sons, Virgil (Sue) Pack of Wayne, William (Jennings) Pack of Wayne, Drewie (Karen) Pack of Wooster, Oh., Roger (Jolene) Pack of Branchland, W.Va., and Hubert (Jean Ann) Pack of Beechfork, W.Va.; four daughters, Wanda (Ernie) Kuhel of Howard, Oh., Iris (Harold) Bivens of Moulthrie, Ga., Barbara (Sue) Immel of Wooster, Oh., and Jeffrey Bailey of Wayne; 33 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren.

ROBERT W. MERCHANT, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away on June 27, 2010. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Darryl Maynard II and two brothers-in-law, Bobby Glenn Watts and Robert Lee Watts, both of East Lynn, W.Va.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Diania Lynn Watts Merchant. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Watts of Genoa, W.Va; and six sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn (Dean) Smith of Maryland, Cathy (Greg) Perise of Maryland, Lois (Till) Aliff of Genoa, Roberta (Bobby) Wallace of Wayne, W.Va., Betty Adkins of Prichard, and Wanda (Darryl) Maynard of Wayne. He had several nieces and nephews and leaves behind a special niece and nephew, Jenny and Everette Bowen of Genoa and Beety of Atlanta, Ga., whom he loved very much.
He will be sadly missed by family, a host of friends, and all who knew him. There will be no services.

BOBBY WEBB, 76, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2010. Born on February 20, 1934, to the late Johnny and Nellie Watts Webb, he was a retired coal miner and an avid farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Webb and two infant sons.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Ethel Canaday Webb; a son, Randall Mac Webb and wife Teresa; a daughter Debra Cade and husband Jeff; all of Wayne. Six sisters, Mary (Carl) Ratcliff and Opal (Franklin) Edwards from Garland, Texas; Judy Willis and Ernestine Tabor of Big Clifty, KY; Cora Lee (Edward) Gaither of Harmony, NC and Erma (Charlie Jr.) Mathis, of Wayne, WV, and one twin brother, Billy Webb (Betty) of Genoa, WV; three granddaughters, Kala (Greg) Michels and Traci (Josh) Phillips of Wayne, WV and Amy (Brent) Roberts of Milton, WV and three great granddaughters, Anna Reece and Halle Mac Phillips and Riley Jane Michels. DIANA MARIE "MISSY" HARMON PERRY, 37, of East Lynn, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 24, 2010, following a long illness. She was born December 28, 1972 in Huntington, W.Va. Diana was a faithful and dedicated member of the Nestlow United Baptist Church where she loved to sing and teach Sunday School.
Preceding her in death was on sister, Donna Sue Harmon; paternal grandfather, Carl Harmon; maternal grandparents, Mary Brooks Workman and Willard Workman; aunt Violet Midkiff; and grandfather-in-law, Sampson Blankenship.
She leaves behind her loving husband John Andrew Perry; her parents, Betty and Carl Harmon of Huntington; one sister, Theresa Jeffries and husband Bobby of Ceredo, W.Va.; one brother, Timothy Harmon and wife Amy of Huntington; and grandmother, Gypsie Harmon of Wayne.
Also surviving are her parents-in-law, Andrew and Beverly Perry of East Lynn; one brother-in-law, Matthew Perry of Cattletsburg, Ky.; two sisters-in-law, Monica Perry of East Lynn, and Clara Carter and husband Keith of Huntington; uncle Oscar Harmon and wife Crickett of Wayne; special uncle Tex Workman of Ohio; special aunt Ruby Carter of Genoa, and aunts Linda Oldenburg and husband Dale of Calif., and Faye Staley of Prichard, W.Va.; and grandmother-in-law, Ella Blankenship of Wayne.
She also leaves behind very special nieces and nephews, some of who called her "the Diva of East Lynn": Betty Jo Higgins and husband Nick, Sarah "Beth" Hay and husband Anthony, Crystal Hall and fianc Shawn Carter, Jessica Harmon, Aaaron Jeffries and wife Kristen, Travis Kitts, Timmy "Little Brother" Harmon, Hayleigh LeAnn Higgins, Bryson Carter, Brian, Kayle, David, and J.T., special "nephew" Little Bobby; a host of friends and neighbors, and her beloved pets.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Cabell Huntington Hospital cancer unit and special nurse Becky Salyers with Cabell's Home Health for their care and support.
Diana was a loving and kind person who considered everyone she met a friend. Through her hardest battle, she never failed to praise God for the many blessings in her life, never losing faith.

RONALD M. "Coach" COX, 70, of Columbus, Oh., died Friday, April 30, 2010 at his home. Born October 5, 1939 in Genoa, W.Va., he retired from Western Electric-Lucent after 36 years of service. Additionally, he was a member of Jewell Lodge No. 140 AF&AM.
Preceding him in death was wife Roxie Cox; father Allie Cox, and great-grandson Chase Jayden Mustain-Cox.

BERTHA McCLELLAN, 83, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Friday, April 30, 2010. She was born August 21, 1926 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Tom and Frances Kirk Watts. Her husband Larkins "Doc" McClellan also preceded her in death along with one daughter, Frances Fitzsimmons; one brother, Tom Watts, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Frances Fitzsimmons.
Survivors include three daughters, Audrey May of Grove City, Oh., Eva Craft of Florence, S.C., and Blanche Sanders and her husband Tom of Lavalette, W.Va.; two sons, Truman McClellan of Genoa, and Larry McClellan and his wife Darlene of Wayne, W.Va.; one stepson Larkin Joe McClellan of Lockborne, Oh.; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. James was retired from the Wayne County Board of Education, and also served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Kate Moore Nolen and J.D. Nolen and one sister, Linda Nolen.
Survivors include his wife Zea Nolen, of Genoa, W.Va.; one son, Jimmy Nolen and his wife Linda of Belpre, OH; and two daughters, Connie Talbert and husband Bill of Wayne, W.Va., and Mary Ann Ray and husband Ron of Chattaroy, W.Va.; five grandchildren: James Perry and wife Susan of Genoa, Tammy Chaffin and husband Jimmy Chafin of Genoa, Jessica Leep and husband Sam also from Genoa, Jason Pridemore of Wayne, W.Va., and Ryan Nolen of Marietta, OH.; step grandchildren: Michelle Perry and husband Tom, of Wayne, W.Va., Brian Talbert and wife Jennifer of Mason, W.Va., Nicole Ray and Amy Curry of Chatteroy, W.Va.; five great grand children Peyton, Taylor, and Keleigh, Hayden, and Gavin all of Genoa, W.Va.; four sisters, Dorothy Burdick, Norma Short, Joyce Perez, and Amelia Hastings all of Ohio; and three brothers, his twin brother Bill Nolen and brothers Freddie Nolen and Eddie Nolen all of Ohio.

GRANT MAYNARD, 67, of Cleveland, Oh., passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010. He was born on November 25, 1942 in Kiahsville, W.Va., a son of the late Ruben and Victoria Spence Maynard. His sister Virginia also preceded him in death along with four brothers, Otis, Paul, Doyle, and Armo. Grant worked as a machinist at MTD in Cleveland, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed collecting classic cars as well as listening to and collecting country and blue grass music.
Survivors include his wife Wynemia; four brothers Andy, Bud, Heck, and Jim; four sisters Edna Hillyer, Hazel Niece, Dottie Maynard, and Glenna Akers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at noon Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, and proceed to Community Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. for graveside services.

CHARITY B. STAFFORD, 73 of Genoa, W.Va. passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House. She was born in Wayne County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Millard Spencer and Alma "Granny" Wallace. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Goldie Rice, two brothers, B.H. Spencer and Charles Spencer.
Surviving are one daughter, Catherine of Genoa, W.Va.; two sons, Stan and his wife Theresa of Menomonee Falls, WI and Mike of Dunlow, W.Va.; one sister, Barbara Poindexter of Huntington, W.Va. and one brother, Ray Spencer of Columbus, OH.
She has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and special friends Inez and Dee Thompson, along with several nieces and nephews.

EARL NAPIER, 64, of Dunlow, W. Va., passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at River's Bend Health Care following a long battle with cancer. He was born September 14, 1945 at Dunlow, a son of the late Earl Wallace and Della Napier. Earl served in the United State Air Force in the Vietnam era and was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Jean Napier, of Dunlow; and cousins Roger Fry, Karen Fry, Gayle Harris, and Jim Napier.

Born June 16, 1988 in Huntington, she was preceded in death by her father James Davis, along with maternal grandparents, Barbara and Alford Adkins and paternal grandparents, Lula and Argy Davis.
Danielle graduated from Wayne High School in 2006 and was a senior psychology major at Marshall University, where she also played trumpet in Marshall's Marching Thunder. She was a student dormitory security supervisor, and also attended Huntington Gospel Chapel.
She leaves behind her mother Augusta Davis of Wayne; one sister, Krystal Mounts and husband Justin of Wayne; her beloved boyfriend of three years, Christopher Dixon of Huntington; aunt and uncles Nancy Bryan and husband Roger, Carol Davis, Raymond Davis all of Wayne, Dee Davis of Huntington, Essie Vaughan of Lavalette, and Charlie Davis of Wayne; and a host of friends and family too numerous to mention.

JOHNNIE FRANKLIN EDWARDS, 94, of Wayne, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 12, 2010. He was born June 15, 1015 in Lawrence County, Ohio, a son of the late Bertrum and Emma Gumm Edwards. His wife, Margaret L. Smith Edwards also preceded him in death, along with one daughter, Katy Crowder. He was a retired machinist from INCO, a member of INCO Retirees, S.O.R.E. Chapter, and the CCCs as well as a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. Johnnie stayed active through his retirement, gardening till age 89, working crossword puzzles till age 90 and walking until his final year. He was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Adkins and husband Marvin, Carol Fry and husband Pete, all of Wayne; one son-in-law, Jim Crowder of Winterhaven, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Elaine Martino and husband Ron of Proctorville, Oh., Kent Adkins and wife Pam of Columbus, Oh., Beth Cade and husband Shawn, Virginia Adkins, Steven Fry, Randy Pete Fry and wife Nancy, all of Wayne, Dr. John Fry and wife Heather of Kenova, W.Va., Andy Crowder, Robin Burry and husband Richard, Eva Crowder, and Leah Britt and husband Kevin, all of Winterhaven, Fla.; 10 great grandchildren, Ethan and Cameron Cade, Austin Fry, Sara Fry, Kristin and Derek Crowder, Brady and Bailey Burry, and Madison and Ali Britt; and one great-great grandchild, Katlyn Crowder.

Grace was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ross Wilson; three sons, Robert Wilson and wife Melba, Don Wilson and wife Edna, and Billy Wilson and wife Darlene, all of Genoa; four grandchildren, Sherry Eaves and husband Jeff of Genoa, Kelly Wilson of Genoa, Brian Wilson and wife Erin of Ft. At peace now, SHARON KAY ROSS WILLIAMSON, was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her parents, Edward & Doyle Maynard Ross, and her baby boy on February 11, 2010. She fought a hard battle with Pick's disease but God in his mercy did not allow her to suffer.
Sharon was born September 20, 1949 in Wayne, W.Va., lived in Chicago for a while and then resided in W.Va. before calling Jacksonville, Fla. her home for many years.
Sharon leaves behind her two children: Denise Sahni and husband Adesh, and their two children, Zachary and Sarah; and Tommy Williamson and his three children, Steven, Logan, and Layton, all of Jacksonville. She also had 5 "bonus" grandbabies from Jenny Vasko of Oregon and a brand new great-granddaughter Zoe Vasko of Ill.
Also, she leaves her brothers Gil Ross and his wife Darlene and William Spence, all of Wayne; her two sisters, Linda Smith and husband Curtis of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Nola Adkins and husband Larry of Lesage, W.Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, whom she called her babies and was always there for from the time they were born. Also surviving are several uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends, including Creed Adams who, before this horrible disease, was indeed a true friend and companion. She also leaves behind many friends at Jacksonville Rehabilitation, who made her final year full and happy.
Sharon was a giver and a helper. She would do whatever she could for anyone. Her heart was the biggest part of her. Rest in peace our mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. You will always be with us and someday we will see you again.

MARK EUGENE ADKINS, 51, of Wayne, W.Va. and Westerville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 28, 2009. Born March 10, 1958 in Huntington, W.Va., he was a member of the First American Baptist Church of Westerville, and attended Lick Creek Baptist Church of Wayne. Mark served as a weapons maintenance technician in the United States Air Force, and was employed by the Transportation Security Administration of the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, he was a huge Marshall Thundering Herd fan.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Enola Gay Langham Adkins.

BRENDA LOU RAHN, 55, of Wayne, W. Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on May 17, 1954 in McDowell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Louisa M. Phipps Fuson and Lester Ray Phipps. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather James Fuson, two sisters, Sandy Mann, and Pat Phipps; and two brothers, Jimmy Phipps, and Frank Phipps.
She was formerly employed as supervisor of catering for the John Marshall Dining Room.
Survivors include one daughter, Naomi Hernandez, of Wayne, W.Va., and one son, James Michael Rahn, of McDowell County, W.Va.; two sisters, Nancy Smith of Fort Pierce, FL, and Ella Mann of Tenn.; five brothers, Joe Phipps, of Wayne; Robert Mann of Petoskey, MI, Darrell Mann and James Mann, both of Wayne, and Sam Mann, of Crumpler, NC; four grandchildren, Gary Peters of Naples, FL; KaSandra Peters of Flushing, MI; and BreAnna and Hailey Rahn both of Wayne; and a host of additional nieces, nephews, and family too numerous too mention. Brenda was a wonderful person who was loved by many and she will be greatly missed.

RUBY BROOKS WORKMAN, 49, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 20, 2009, at home. She was born October 18, 1960 in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ollie Brooks and Ida Cousby Brooks. She was preceded in death by one son Emmitt Brooks, along with one sister Nora Ellen Clark, and two special friends, Sandy Young, and Minuard Watts.
Survivors include two daughters, Harriet Brooks and Racheal Bryant and one son Micheal Workman. REV. ARTHUR QUEEN, 89, of Lavalette, W.Va., went to sleep in the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va. He was ordained in 1953 and helped many people find their way to the Lord. Mr. Queen was born the son of Noah Queen and Tennessee Queen in Kiahs Creek, W.Va., on October 8, 1920. Following the death of his mother, he, at 12 years of age, helped raise his younger brothers, including the baby. Arthur married Sarah Pack at age 16 and together raised seven children of their own. He was larger than life, and beloved by his family. Arthur will be sorely missed by one and all.
In addition to his mother and father, Mr. Queen was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sarah Pack Queen; brothers, Howard, Normal, Nelvin, Paul, and Nolan; sisters Ethyl, Nary, and Bertha; and grandson Greg Queen.
He is survived by his wife Frankie Queen; brother Newman Queen, and Johnson Queen, both of Wayne, W.Va., and Noah Queen of Ceredo, W.Va.; sons Dallas Queen and wife Edith of Interlachen, Fla., A. G. Queen, Bob Queen and wife Teresa, and Kenneth Queen and wife Susan, all of Lavalette, and Tim Queen and wife Anne of Gainesville, Fla.; daughters, Tennessee Ramey and husband Golden of Interlachen, and Bonnie Ross and husband Larry of Newberry, Fla.; daughters-in-law, Vickie Queen of Interlachen, and Lynn Queen of Gainesville, Fla.; stepsons, Greg Queen and wife Robin of Huntington, and Josh Queen and wife Tiffany of Lavalette; and stepdaughters Diane Adkins and husband Gary, and Angie Maynard and husband Ricky, all of Lavalette. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

CHARLES CHESTER JONES, 85, of East Lynn, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House of Huntington. He was born August 30, 1924 at Mountain (Mole Hill), W.Va., a son of the late Martin Luther and Myrtle Mae Forester Jones. One son, Charles E. Jones, also preceded him in death along with six brothers, John Paul, James, Jess, Clarence, and Wayne, and four sisters, Arrowanna, Bessie, Melissa, and Allean. Charles was a retired truck driver of forty years and a United States Army Veteran.
He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 67 years, Elizabeth J. Vaughan Aldridge Jones. Also surviving are two sons, Michael R. Jones, at home, and Walter V. Aldridge and his wife Marcelene of Olmstead, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sheri D. Miller and her husband Chris of Valley City, Ohio, and Priscilla L. WESLEY EUGENE "TOSS" FERRELL, 73, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Friday, December 11, 2009 at home. He was born August 4, 1936 in Logan County, W.Va., a son of the late Oscar and Glenna Faye Stowers Ferrell. His wife, Joyce Maynard Ferrell also preceded him in death, along with three brothers, Glenn David Ferrell, Bobby Joe Ferrell, and Larry Dale Ferrell, and one sister, Jane Chapman. Wesley was a member of Huntington Lodge #64 Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and he loved to fish.

He was a wonderful grandfather to two very special grandsons, Jacob Stanley, and Brayden Stanley, of Wayne. She was born July 6, 1934 in Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late John Langley and Maudie Davis Sebastian. Her husband, Howard C. Buck Hazelett also preceded her in death along with one daughter-in-law, Freda Hazelett. Opal was a bookkeeper and attended Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Lavalette.

EARNEST MARCUM, 83, of Creola, Ohio, formerly of Dunlow, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Twin Maples Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 25, 1926 in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Anderson and Sarah Belle Salmons Marcum. His wife, Lilly Mae Perry Marcum also preceded him in death along with three brothers, Homer Marcum, Hobert Marcum, and George Marcum, and eight sisters, Frances Crum, Vadie Marcum, Sadie Marcum, Cora Trail, Ocie Crum, Bernice Lowe, who was his twin sister, Velvie Johnson, and Mae Copley. Ernie served our country in the US Army during WWII.

VICY FRASHER BROOKS OSBURN, 80, of East Lynn, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Vicy was born March 8, 1929 in Henlawson, W.Va. , to the late Galley and Nancy Watts Frasher. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Earnie Brooks; a son, Sampson Brooks; two grandsons, Robert Mitchell Dyer and Robert Dale Brooks; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mary Ross, Maxine Riddle, and Ruth Brooks; three brothers, Wilburn Frasher, Lonnie Frasher, and Brady Frasher; and her second husband, Fisher Osburn.
Vicy was a long time member of Wolf Pen Church of Christ. She dedicated her life to providing loving care for her family and home.
Left behind to cherish her memory include one sister, Shirley Dyer of Huntington, W.Va.; five daughters: Ruthie (Bobbie) Dyer of East Lynn, Bernice Marshall of Akron, Ohio, Charlotte Clay of East Lynn, Shirley (Carl) Grimm of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and Vangie (Dan) Bouzek also of East Lynn; three sons, Barry Frasher of Ceredo, W.Va., Earnest Brady (Sherry) Brooks of Wayne, W.Va., and Franklin (Sue) Brooks of Wayne. SAMPSON BLANKENSHIP, 80, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, October, 7, 2009, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House of Huntington, after an extended illness. He was born July 15, 1929, a son of the late Francis Doc and Chaney Spurlock Blankenship. He was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. He took pride in his garden and loved showing off his fruits and vegetables.
Sampson is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Ella Adkins Blankenship; daughter Donna Walker and a husband Kenneth of East Lynn, W.Va.; son Carl Blankenship of Wayne; son Michael Blankenship of Lavalette, W.Va.; daughter Beverly Perry and husband Andrew of East Lynn; daughter Brenda Mullins and husband Michael of East Lynn; and daughter Linda Adkins and husband James of Wayne.
Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, Dreama Darst, Donnella Adkins, Kimberly Ferguson, Amanda Carter, Deborah Krantz, Ella Marie Blankenship, Wetzel Lambert, John Perry, Clara Adkins, Monica Perry, James Adkins, Jesse Adkins, Jason Adkins, and Brian Mullins; 23 great- grandchildren; and a host of friends, relatives and neighbors.

She is survived by her cousin, Jack Stephens and his wife Eliza of Wayne, with whom she made her home, was given cared by, and considered mom and dad. DIANNA HOPE LAMBERT, 64, of South Point, Oh., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 29, 2009. She was born September 8, 1945 in Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late George Menis and Mable Violet Cyrus Stephens. Two daughters, Cynthia Michelle and Beverly Angel Lambert also preceded her in death along with two brothers, Richard and Charlie Stephens, and two sisters, Beverly Watts and Delores Parsley. Dianna was a member of New Beginnings Apostolic Church in Huntington.
Dianna was a dedicated mother to her only surviving daughter, Diana Renee Lambert, of South Point, and the loving wife of Art Hammond of Morgan Hill, Cal.; Also surviving are three sisters, Glenna Williams of Columbus, Oh., Joyce Jones and husband Kenneth of Huntington, and Helen Weber and husband Paul of Dayton, Oh.; eight brothers, Argene Stephens and wife Faye, of Prichard, W.Va., Adolphis Stephens and wife Barbara of Lavalette, W.Va., Paul Stephens and wife Edith, Raymond Stephens and wife Barbara, and Silas Stephens and wife Dorothy, all of Wayne, Michael Stephens and wife Donna of Raymond, Oh., Dallas Stephens and wife Brenda of Wayne, and Donald Stephens of Lavalette; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family too numerous to mention.

JESSE FOX PERRY, 85, of Genoa, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Monday, September 28, 2009. He was born February 1, 1924 in Wayne County, West Virginia a son of the late John and Siddie Moore Perry. One son, Warren Perry also preceded him in death along with three brothers, Frennie Perry, Tom Perry, and Harry Perry, and one sister, Hazel Hyder.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Endicott Perry; three sons, Keith Perry and wife Sue of Genoa, W.Va., David Perry and wife Carolyn of Harrisonburg, Va., and Jesse Perry and wife Debbie of Morehead, Ky.; one daughter, Nancy Williams and husband Robert of Corpus Christi, Tex.; eight grandchildren, Sara Brunetti and husband Robert, Erin Moyer and husband Cary, all of Port Washington, NY, Megan Perry of Lexington, Ky., Nicholas Williams and Tessa Williams, both of Corpus Christi, Tex., Gabriel Perry, Andrew Perry and Abigail Perry, all of Morehead, Ky.; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Dicie Thompson of Genoa; two brothers, John Bill Perry and wife Irna Leah of Genoa, and Ken Perry and wife Martha of Prichard, W.Va.; and a host of friend and family.
Jesse was a member of the Genoa Church of Christ where he served as deacon. Additionally, he was the Sheriff of Wayne County from 1956-1960.

SIDNEY ANDERSON STROUD, 93, of Genoa, W.Va., passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House. He was born in Mingo County, West Virginia, a son of the late Harmon and Catherine Parsley Stroud. Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Harley, Burley, Quincy Sug, Shorty, and Tony, and five sisters, Ada Coburn, Pearlie Robinette, Linda Williamson, Goldie Maynard, and June Moore.
He is survived by his life-long companion, Charity (Stroud) Stafford; two sons, Stan and wife Teresa of Monomonee Falls, WI, and Mike of Dunlow, W.Va., and one daughter, Catherine of Genoa. He had six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a special niece and nephew, Inez and Dee Thompson of Genoa.
The family would like to express special thanks to Georganna Tucker, Sandy Smith, and all the staff of Hospice of Wayne.

KEISHI D. PAULSON, 34 of Harrington, Del., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Claudie Steele.
Mrs. Paulson worked for Green Diamond Builders of Felton in customer service. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her children. She loved being around children, and even taught her neighbors children how to ride their bicycles. She was a loving mother who had a strong personality and was very outgoing. Even through her long illness, she kept strong and managed to encourage others around her, and take care of her family. She fought her illness up to her last breath. She will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law and friend, who will be missed by everyone. Keishi attended the Calvary Wesleyan Church of Harrington.
She is survived by her loving husband of seven years, Jacob R. Paulson of Harrington; daughter, Brianna Danyele Paulson of Harrington; son, Braden Jacob Paulson of Harrington; her mother Carolyn Sue Moore of Huntington, W.Va.; brothers, Gregory Moore and wife Diana of Wayne, W.Va., and Craig Moore of Huntington; grandmother, Doris Steele; nephew Jason Moore; niece Tara Moore; great-nephew Maddix Moore, and nephew Nolan.
Also surviving are mother and father-in-law, Robert and Susan Paulson; sisters-in-law, Erin and Leah Paulson, all of Hobert, Ind.; special friend Gordon Adkins; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

ROY JUNIOR CARTER, 68, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born July 8, 1941 in Wayne County, West Virginia, a son of the late George W. and Emma Epling Carter. One brother, Paul Carter, also preceded him in death along with two sisters, Creasie Mays and Linda Carter.
Roy gave his life to the Lord on April 7, 1995. From that day he devoted his life to serving God. He and his wife attended several churches. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth Carter, of Lavalette, W.Va.; three children, George Carter of Huntington, W.Va., Darlene Castle and husband Hendrick of Russell, Kent., and Tammy Harris of Lavalette; four special grandchildren whom he adored, Kayla Harris, Bradley Harris, who called him their Papa Smurf, and A.J. Castle and Katie Browning. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Homer carter, Zeri Carter, Muss Carter and wife Phyllis, Calvin Carter and wife Loretta, Lyda Yates and husband Herschel, Ida Blake and husband Isaac, and Joyce Blake; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. THURMAN MEEKS, 71, of Wayne, W.Va., formerly of Breeden, W.Va., departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at his residence. Thurman was a disabled coal miner with the UMWA Local 7555, and also a member of Elmwood United Baptist Church.

FRANK JOHN SPROLES, 39, of Lavalette , W.Va. , was tragically taken from this world on Wednesday, August 26, 2009. He was born April 23, 1970 in Odessa , Texas . His father William Franklin Sproles, Sr. preceded him in death along with one brother William Franklin Sproles, Jr.; two young sisters; one daughter, Amanda Lee Sproles; and his grandmother Ruby Sproles, who raised him. Frank was a truck driver and attended Lavalette United Methodist Church . He was a selfless and caring person who, just several weeks ago, risked his own life by saving several from a devastating fire in Huntington . He loved fishing, spending time with family, and especially his dog Hershey.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Lorrine Dihrberg Sproles, of Lavalette, whom he married at the Milford Congregational Church in Milford , Kansas on November 4, 2006.

Additional survivors include his mother, Linda; his sister, Glaydes; his son Sebastian Sproles of Marion, Tex.; his daughter, Elizabeth Sirilo, also of Marion, Texas; four step-children, Joshua Robert Fahey and wife Audrey, of Wayne, W.Va., Heather Yvonne Fahey of Topeka, Kansas, Shauna Joan Brown and husband Daniel also of Wayne, and Holley Chyanne Katherine Cupp and husband Christopher Cupp SSG US Army, of Beckley, W.Va.; six step-grandchildren whom he adored, Micayla Mae Fahey, Anastasia Marie Fahey, Noah Robert Fahey, Valiree Mae Suzanne Fahey, Kylie Mae Brown, and Kaleb Leo Brown; mother-in-law, Joan Florence Fahey and husband Robert F. Fahey; father-in-law, Vernon J. He was born August 21, 1912, to the late General Marion and Alifair Webb Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alva Salmons Brown. He had three brothers: John Henry, Joseph, and Zachary Taylor, four sisters: Nanny, Edna, Florence and Elizabeth , all deceased.He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Randy W. and Doris Evelyn Lambert of Beavercreek, OH. He is also survived by one grandson and his wife, Michael Stephen and Andrea Lambert of Kettering , OH , one granddaughter and her husband, Steven and Marissa Lynn Dilldine, one great granddaughter, Payton Dilldine, and one step-great granddaughter, Seirra Dilldine, all of Beavercreek , OH . OVVIE JAMES ADKINS, 79, departed from this world on Thursday, August 20, 2009. He was born in Branchland, W.Va., the son of the late Harriett May and Stewart Edley Adkins. Two sons, James Paul Adkins and Michael Craig Adkins also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Armilda Bradshaw Adkins of Lavalette , W.Va. , as well as one son, Joseph Stewart Adkins and his loving companion Vickie, of Clay, W.Va.; two daughters, Angela Perry of Proctorville, Ohio and Andrea Swanson of Huntington, W.Va. Also surviving are four siblings, Callie Adkins of Branchland, Odessa Adkins of Barboursville, W.Va., Robert Adkins also of Barboursville, W. Va., and Edley Adkins of Wayne, W.Va. He was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren, and the uncle of several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind one special sister-in-law, Ruby Nicely, whom he loved like a sister.
Ovvie was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War, and a retiree from ACF Industries after many years of proud service. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Huntington for such great care, especially Claire Nudd.

CLARENCE E. SMITH, 83, of Wayne, W.Va., passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 at home. He was born December 18, 1925 in Wayne County, a son of the late Taylor and Grace Smith. Two sisters, Thelma, and Phyllis Marcum also preceded him in death, along with his son, David Smith, and his daughter, Caroline.
Smitty was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. Additionally he proudly served in the US Army receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, the Philippine Liberation, and the World War II Victory Ribbons, and also fought in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Susan Smith of Huntington, W.Va., Sherry Hickey and husband Matthew, and Taylor Allen Smith, all of Wayne; and one great grandson, Taylor Allen T.J. Smith II, of Wayne. Also surviving is three sisters, Faye Burns and husband Oscar of Huntington, Jeanie Adkins and husband Fred of East Lynn, W.Va., and Hester McSweeney and husband Floyd of Wayne; special longtime friend of 52 years, June R. His wife of 59 years, Ernestine Cassidy Adkins also preceded him in death along with two sisters, Blanche Stephens Russell and Delores Adkins Webb; three brothers, Ralph Stephens, Gary Leonard Adkins, and Norman Archie Adkins; and one brother-in-law, Larry Ferguson.
Glen served the United States Navy in World War II. He was a retired auto reconditioner having worked for Gallagher Ford for 15 years and Dutch Miller for 28 years.
He leaves behind one son, Geoffrey Glen Adkins and his wife Deborah Sue Adkins of Wayne. Also surviving are two sisters, Joyce Roach and husband William of Richmond, Kentucky, and Sherma Ferguson of Columbus, Oh.; six brothers, Jay Adkins and wife Ethel of Wayne, Brainard Adkins and wife Malinda of Lavalette, W.Va., Gorman Adkins and wife Eve. Orville Adkins and wife Gail, all of Huntington, W.Va., Michael Adkins and wife Debbie of Chesapeake, Oh., and Seldon Adkins and wife Ruth Ann of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born February 14, 1938 at Lick Creek, a daughter of the late Jennings and Jane Adkins Dyer. She had been a Christian for 40 years and an alto singer for the Harbor Bells Quartet for many years. She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Earl Whited of Fort Gay, W.Va.; one precious and loving daughter, Melissa Clark; one loving and devoted son, Glen Whited; and one very special grandson, Nathanial Whited, all of Fort Gay. Additional survivors include five step-sons, Ronnie Newsome and Jimmie Bo Newsome, of Fort Gay, Lyle Newsome of Crum, W.Va., Michael Newsome and Leslie Newsome, both of Kermit, W.Va.; two sisters, Malta Alexander of East Lynn, W.Va., and Jane Napier of Huntington, W.Va.; and one brother, Bill Dyer of Van Lear, Kentucky. MARK PRESTON MEDDINGS, 94, of Lavalette, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 18, 2009. He was born May 27, 1915 in Cabell County, a son of the late William and Josephine Mitchell Meddings. His wife, Nannie Jane Spurlock Meddings also preceded him in death, along with one brother, Ivan Meddings; one sister, Bessie Edmonds; and daughter-in-law, Linda Meddings.

Mark retired from Owens Illinois and was a member and Deacon of Charity United Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Napier and husband Thomas, Barbara Stephens and husband Adolphis, and Jean Mills and husband Ray, all of Lavalette; two sons, Robert L. Meddings and wife Gloria K., and Roger P. Meddings and wife Nancy both of Marion, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 15 great great-grandchildren. MARY BELL DRENNER CLARK, 84, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009. She was born June 20, 1924 at East Lynn, W.Va., a daughter of the late Fletcher and Pinkie Drenner.

Her husband, Ellison Clark also preceded her in death along with one son, Forest; one daughter, Pinia Jean Bais; two brothers, Forest and William Bill Drenner; and one sister, Dixie Adkins. Mary retired from Hillview Nursing Home where she worked for many years.

Survivors include one sister, Alice Sue Finley; one brother, Benny Ray Drenner; her children whom she loved dearly, Ellison Butch Clark, Fletcher Tiny Clark and wife Linda, Roy Pookie Clark, Rocky Clark, Darlene Tomblin and husband Joe, Mike, Shela, Cassidy and husband Roy, and Keith Clark; 27 grandchildren: Shelly Grimm, Randy, Savannah, and Chase Clark, Andrea Watson, Lisa Broce, Angela Clark, Brenda Book, Wendy Bundy, Tammy Clark, Bobby Allen, Roy, Pa,, Matthew and Daniel Steele, Betty Bailey, Debbie Parsley, Shawn and Christy Bias, Joseph and Sherana Tomblin, Steven Clark, Bobby, Andy, Chris, and Tasha Blackburn, and Jonathan Clark.

Elder YOUNGEA VILLE STEELE, 99, of East Lynn, W.Va., entered into eternal life Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Emogene Dolen Hospice House. He was born October 5, 1909, the son of the late Mont Ville Steele and Polly Ann Ross Steele.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Mae Taylor Steele, a son, William Mont Ville Steele and one daughter, Ann Marie Parsons.

He is survived by five sons; Glenn Robert Steele, Clermont, Fla., Youngea V. Steele, Jr., Sebring, Fla., James David Steele of Huntington, W.Va., Samuel J. Steele of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Carl W. Steele of Wayne, W.Va. He is survived by nine daughters; Eloise Rinehart of Fort Myers, Fla., Jessie Loraine Williamson of Crown City, Oh.; Betty Fay Williamson of Punta Gorda, Fla., Eulah Mae Duff of Columbus, Oh.; Arbra Della Blevins of Canal Winchester, Oh.; Virgie Ruth Oshel of Huntington, W.Va.; Charlotte Louise Lucas of Prichard, W.Va.; Wanda Lanette Watts of Wayne, W.Va.; and Naomi Arlene Blankenship of Wayne, W.Va.

Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grand children.

Ordained to preach the word of God in 1940, his life was one of service to God and dedication to his family. Along with Wetzel Ball, he established the Laurel Creek Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for a number of years. He was instrumental in organizing and establishing churches at Brush Creek and Rich Creek in Wayne County. In 1970, he established the Big Lynn Freewill Baptist Church where he served as Pastor. In 1993, he established the Steele Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, Route 1, East Lynn, W.Va. He served as Pastor of this congregation until his retirement, at which time he became Assistant Pastor, serving in this capacity until his death. His example of a Christian life lived and the love of God and his church inspired young pastors to preach the Word of God.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. with Brothers Greenway Parsley, Jerry Casteele, J.C. Skeens, and Jeremiah Williamson officiating. RUSSELL PERRY, 76, of Dunlow, W.Va., left this world peacefully with his family by his side to go into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 6, 2009. He was born March 14, 1933, a son of the late Gid and Polly (Haney) Perry. His wife, Lydia Brewer Perry also preceded him in death, along with brothers Casa, William, Lowell, Clifford, and Sampson Perry, and sisters, Ethel Perry, Jane Alexander, Virginia Brewster, and Lilly Marcum.

Survivors include one sister, Alma Corbitt and husband Russell of Springfield, Tenn.; one son, Russell Dale Perry and wife Kathy of Dunlow; one granddaughter, Kathy Smith and husband Homer; one great-granddaughter, Lauryn Grace Smith. Also surviving are three step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; special friend Rylenea Brewer; special cousin David Eslick; and faithful canine companion, Smokey.

Russell served in the 1st Armored Division of the US Army. He was a retired coal miner from Island Crek, Pittston Coal Corp., MSHA Insp., and also worked for Fisher Body Fleetwood Cadillac. Russell enjoyed spending time with loved ones, especially the apple of his eye, Lauryn Grace. He also loved the outdoors and reading the Bible. The family would like to thank caregivers for their love and care, especially Love Day, Missy Matthews, Missy Bragg, Susan Harris, and Zach Curry, as well as the staff at the VA Hospital and Cabell Huntington Hospital.

DELMAS LEE TRIPLETT, 62, of Huntington, W.Va., died at his home Friday, May 29, 2009. He was born in Logan County on July 24, 1947. He served in the Vietnam War and was honored with a medal for rifle and mortar accuracy. Delmas was also a member of the VFW Post 1064. His father, Willard Triplett preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Mary Etta Napier Triplett; his mother, Vina McComas Triplett; his brother, Melvin Triplett, and wife Pamela; and his niece Sara Lynn Triplett all of Morgantown, W.Va.

, 68, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, April 15, 2009. He was born August 3, 1940 at Wayne, a son of the late James Madison and Clara Fry Richardson. He was a faithful, loving member of the Laurel Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Goble was also an Army Veteran, and retired from A.K. Steel. Two brothers, Earl J. Richardson and Howard Richardson also preceded him in death, along with one sister, Violet Fryer.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Wanda Lee Merritt Richardson; two daughters, Michelle Dennison and her husband Bruce of Lavalette, W.Va., and Camille McGahey and husband John of Bentonville, AR; three sons, Tracy Richardson of Wayne, Chris Richardson and fianc Lara Queen of Genoa, W.Va., and George Richardson of Wayne and special friend Laura Holton; two brothers, James Richardson and wife Anna Mae of Wayne, and Jackie Richardson and wife Barbara of North Ridgeville, Oh.; two sisters, Nellie Thompson and late husband Sherwood of Wayne, and Estelle Howard of Detroit, Mich.

He was a loving papaw to six grandchildren, Ashley Richardson, Brandon and Nicholas Dennison, Austin Richardson, Allison and Jennifer McGahey; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

HARRY TAYLOR PERRY, 83, of Genoa, W.Va., passed away at home Sunday, April 12, 2009. He was born November 17, 1925 in Radnor, W.Va., a son of the late John and Siddie Perry. His wife, Jewell Ball Perry also preceded him in death. Harry served in the US Army and was retired from the International Nickel Company.

IRVING ELIJAH HAND, 89, peacefully left this life on April 9, 2009 to be forever in the arms of his Savior and King. He was born on October 15, 1919 in Camden, N.J., the second son of Elijah and Emma Hand. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Peggy Brooks Hand, his brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Josephine Hand, his brother-in-law, John Brooks, and his nephew, Leonard A. Hand.

Heleaves the following who grieve his death, yet celebrate his life: sister-in-law, Ginny Brooks of Trenton, N.J.; nephew, Bill Hand, his wife, Sheryl, and daughter, Vicki, and her family of Birmingham, Ala.; niece, Camille Watts, her husband, Charles, and daughter, Denise, and her family, of Purcelville, Va.; and his niece, Sandra Hand, and her children, Art Hand, of Huntington, and Katie and Bobby McCallister, of Eleanor, W.Va. After graduating from the New Jersey School for the Deaf, Irving worked for the Hibbard Group in Trenton, N.J. as a pressman for 48 years before retiring in 1989. He vacationed with his West Virginia family often, and soon after his retirement he accepted their invitation to move to Huntington permanently. He was a joy and inspiration to his new family, and he quickly became the focal point of their lives. His favorite pastime was baseball. As a teen and young adult, he played shortstop with the N.J. School for the Deaf. In spite of his hearing and vision handicaps, he always greeted everyone with a broad smile and sturdy handshake and eagerly shared his love of life.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2 p.m. service on Saturday at Johnson-Tiller Funeral Home in Wayne, W.Va. Interment will be in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va.

PAUL JAMES MITCHELL, 61, loving husband and father, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 31, 2009. He was born January 12, 1948 in Huntingdon County, Penn., a son of the late Walter and Marie Mitchell. Three brothers,Eugene "Buddy Mitchell, William Mitchell, and Robert Mitchell also preceded him in death along with two sisters, Lydia Warner, and Alverta Sparks.

Paul served in the United States Marines and was a retired truck driver. He was also a member of the Pentecostal Church in Three Springs, Penn.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mitchell of East Lynn, W.Va., two daughters, Marietta Mitchell of Easy Lynn, W.Va., and Paula Smith of South Carolina; one son, Walter Mitchell of Prichard, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; and seven special grandchildren.

JAMES HAROLD ADKINS, 71, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 16, 2009, at home with his family. He was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Sandra and Barbara. He is survived by his loving wife Betty L. Adkins, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on April 4, 2009; devoted daughters Vickie Hill, Kimberly Wooten and Jamie Adkins; grandsons Darius Adkins, Kody Adkins and fiancee Lacey Moore, and Jason Blankenship and his wife Gwen; granddaughter Kayla Adkins and great-granddaughter Caylyn Rae Adkins (Poppy's Girl); two great-grandsons to be born in July and August; a brother, Donald Adkins and his wife Vivian; and a sister, Patricia Adkins. FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT CLINE, SR., 69, of East Lynn, W.Va., passed away at home Wednesday, February 18, 2009. He was born January 1, 1940 in Simon, W.Va., a son of the late Grover and Mary Goodman Cline. His wife, Sylvia Toler Cline also preceded him in death along with seven brothers, Orie, Virgil, Don, Bob, twin brother Woodrow, Onnie, and Tex Cline; and three sisters, Virgie Toler, Nellie Massey, and Corbie Cline.

Franklin was a retired coal miner who loved family and friends. He enjoyed bluegrass music and played various musical instruments. He also liked motorcycles, 4-wheelin, and playing on his dozer.

Survivors include two sons, Franklin Cline, Jr. of East Lynn, Samuel Cline and his wife Phyllis of Beech Fork; seven daughters, Marybell Kennedy and husband Randall, Deedra McMillion and husband Barry, Frances Burns and husband James, Selena Bell Baker, all of East Lynn, Darlene Bishop and husband Vincent of Simon, W.Va., Delores Kennedy and husband Robert of East Lynn, and Heather Moore of Richmond, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

MARTHA JANE MEADE KIRK, 66, of Huntington,WVa., passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at St. Marys Medical Center. She was born December 1, 1942 in Cabell County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Elva and Virgie Mae Meade. One daughter, Nova Lea Kirk also preceded her in death along with three brothers, Wallace, Gartha, and Lewis Meade. Martha was a devoted wife and mother who loved gardening, crossword puzzles, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Noah Kirk, Jr.; two daughters, Sondra Pelfrey of Huntington, and Geisha Miller and her husband Bill, of Huntington; three grandsons, Noah Blevins, Jesse Blevins, and Brody Pelfrey, all of Huntington; four great grandchildren, Aeris Blevins, Sophia Blevins, Benjamin Blevins, all of Oh., and Blaine Blevins of Huntington. Also surviving is one sister, Patsy Stroud of Breeden, W.Va., two brothers, Aley Meade of Earling, W.Va., and B.F. Meade of Princeton, W.Va., and many friends.

ANDY RAY STAMPER, 56, of Dunlow, W.Va., passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 at The VA Medical Center, Huntington. Born March 29, 1952 in Ypsilanti, Mich., Andy was a strip mine worker and a disabled veteran from the US Marine Corp. His father, Andy Lee Stamper preceded him in death along with two sisters, Joan Curnutte and Teresa Stamper, whom he now joins in heaven with the Lord.

He is survived by his wife Dotty Stamper; and one daughter, Terri Stamper. He is also survived by his mother, Hazel Stamper; two sisters, Linda Finley and her husband Lester, and Jean Sammons and her husband Don; three brothers, Ron Stamper and his wife Evelyn, Barry Stamper and his wife Sherry, and Charles Stamper; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Andy was a beloved father and husband and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

MRS. SHIRLEY LEORIS ADAMS JOHNSON, 73, of Wayne, W.Va., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Sunday February 1, 2009 at home surrounded by her husband and children. She was born November 20, 1935 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Scott Adams and Martha Maynard Adams. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arlene and Robert Johnson also preceded her in death along with one brother-in-law, Leonard Hand.

Surviving is her husband of 44 years, Dewey R. Johnson of Wayne; one son, Greg Johnson of Ashland, Ky., and Gary Harrison; and one daughter, Deborah and Chad Tiller of Huntington; one brother-in-law, Robert Johnson and his wife Ann of Huntington and their family; two sisters-in-law, Delores Esque and her husband Roland, and Sandra Hand, all of Huntington, and their families; several cousins, including Pat Adams of Huntington; very special friends and caregivers, Julia Bernoski of Ceredo, W.Va., Theresa Bevins of South Point, Oh., Barbara Crosier of Proctorville, Oh., Deloris Adkins of Wayne, and Twila Richards of Lavalette, W.Va. , as well as, Georganna Tucker, Pat Napier, Rhonda Davis, Felicia Vance, and Teresa Johnson with Hospice of Wayne and Huntington; and extended family and friends too numerous to mention.

Shirley graduated Huntington High School in 1953 and was a lifelong member of the 7Th Avenue Baptist Church. She worked at Appalachian Power Company from 1954-1965 in the Wheeling and Huntington labs. She and Dewey owned and operated 5th Ave. Coin Laundry through the 1970s, were co-owners of Ceredo Mortuary from 1980-1986, then founded and own Johnson Tiller Funeral Home in Wayne, through the present.

As a 7-year member of the Musical Arts Guild, Shirley sang Beethovens Ode to Joy with the Robert Shaw Orchestra and Choral which was performed in German as part of the Marshall Artist Series. In addition to singing, she was a talented accordion player and pianist. Additionally, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sororities for over 50 years, having held all offices and chaired all committees, most recently with the Lambda Master chapter. She was a past member of the Pea Ridge Womens Club, Wayne Womens Club, and past President of the Wayne County Inter-Club Council, volunteering over 20 years to the organization.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, W.Va.

ANN MARIE STEELE PARSONS, 72, of Lavalette, W.Va. , entered into eternal life Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Cabell Huntington Hospital . She was born February 23, 1936 at Logan, W.Va., daughter of Louise Taylor Steele and Youngea V. Steele.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Taylor Steele; a son-in-law, Eddie Skeens; and a brother, William Mont Ville Steele. She is survived by her daughter Betty Lou Caruthers and her husband Robert Caruthers of Hurricane, W.Va., and her 99 year old father Elder Youngea V. Steele, who made his home with her.

Ann was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church, Lavalette and a member of Wayne Chapter No. 156, Order of the Eastern Star.Additional survivors include five brothers; Glenn Robert Steele of Clermont, Fla., Youngea V. Steele, Jr., of Sebring, Fla., James David Steele of Huntington, W.Va., Samuel J. Steele of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Carl W. Steele, of Wayne, W.Va.; nine sisters, Eloise Rinehart of Fort Myers, Fla., Jessie Loraine Williamson of Crown City, Oh; Betty Fay Williamson of Punta Gorda, Fla., Eulah Mae Duff of Columbus, Oh.; Arbra Della Blevins of Reynoldsburg, Oh.; Virgie Ruth Oshel of Huntington, Charlotte Louise Lucas of Prichard, W.Va., Wanda Lanette Watts of Wayne, and Naomi Arlene Blankenship of Wayne.

She is also survived by three grandsons, Shane Skeens and wife Angie of Huntington, Joshua Skeens and wife Julie of Culloden, W.Va., and Adam Skeens and wife Ashley of St. Albans, W.Va.; two great grandchildren, Christian Skeens and Evan Skeens, and expecting a great granddaughter in May.

LEAH CAROLYN KNIGHT, 65, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was born December 25, 1943 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Muriel Talbert. Also preceding her in death was two sisters, Stella Ratcliff and Laura Mae Stephens, along with two brothers, Austin Talbert and Thomas Talbert.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, 4 months, and 13 days, Gary Knight; one sister, Beulah Chapman and her husband Douglas; four brothers, Arthur Talbert Jr. and his wife Yvonne, Donald Talbert and Mikalene Smith, Charles Talbert and his wife Violet, and William Talbert and his wife Connie, all of Wayne; special canine companions, Rachel Kathleen Knight and Buster Brown Knight; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

JOHN SIGSBY MAYNARD, 84, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 8, 1925 in Wayne County, a son of the late Frank and Sada Finley Maynard. His wife, Neva Noftz Maynard of Toledo also preceded him in death, along with one sister, Vada Fay Flowers of Huntington, W.Va., and one brother Theeautry Maynard of Apple Grove, W.Va.

John graduated from Wayne High School, and served in the US Army during World War II. He retired from Schindler Elevator in Toledo, Ohio.He is survived by two sisters, Myrtle Dick of Gainesville, Fla., and Judy Beckett of Huntington; and three brothers, Walter Maynard of Perry Hall, Md., Eugene Maynard of Huntington, and Gary L. Maynard of Huntington.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Community Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ray Vance officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Huntington City Mission. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Maynard Family.

MRS. MARIE ADKINS, 69, of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with her Lord Saturday, January 10, 2009. She was born September 4, 1939 in Newark, N.J., a daughter of the late Mario and Louise Senatore`. An infant sister also preceded her in death. Marie was a devoted wife, loving mother and talented artist.

She leaves behind her husband, James Adkins; three daughters, Lynn Mogle and her husband Clayton of Des Moines, IO, Karen Adkins of Wayne, W.Va., Leslie Rodes and her husband Jim of Huntington, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Dustin Mogle and Joshua Mogle, both of Des Moines, David Rodes and Christina Rodes, both of Huntington; and three great grandchildren, Payton Mogle, Connor Mogle, and Abbie Mogle, all of Des Moines. Also surviving are two brothers, Lewis Miller and Arthur Miller, both of N.J.; sister-in-law, Pearl Colegreco of Cliffside Park, N.J.; and lifelong friend and sister in spirit, Marie Dingess and her husband Sid of Toms River, N. J.

MR. BILLY PORTER, 67, of Dunlow, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin James Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va.

He was born June 15, 1941 in Wayne County, a son of the late Charlie and Martha Porter. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Vada Wallace and Ethel Marcum, and two brothers, Carlos Porter and Virgil Workman.

Billy served in the US Army, 1st Calavary during the Vietnam War, and previously worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad.He is survived by his wife, Linda Conley Porter; one son, Michael Porter and his wife Debbie of Hilliard, Oh; one daughter, Melinda Lucas and her husband Ronnie of Salt Rock, W.Va.; and three grandchildren, Michael H. Porter, Tyler W. Porter, and Jacob A. Lucas.

Also surviving are four brothers, Willis Porter of Pomeroy, Oh., Gus Porter of Dunlow, W.Va., Clifford Porter of Ft. Gay, W.Va., and Orville Porter of Columbus, Oh.; two sisters, Geneva Porter of Oh., and Dorothy Porter of N.C.; and many loving nieces, nephews, and special friends.

THELMA A. PRICE
, 88, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 7, 2009. She was born January 10, 1920, a daughter of the late Fielden J. Ramey and Norma Price Ramey. Also preceding in death was her husband, George Jackson Price; seven brothers, Everett Wiley Ramey, Christian Ramey, Pete Ramey, Chester Ramey, James Ramey, Thomas Ramey, and Robert Ramey; and four sisters, Mary Ramey, Elsie Wagner, Esta Adkins, and Florida McCoy.

Thelma was a hard worker as a young lady doing such things as making parachutes for the US Military Services. She was also a factory worker, nurses aid, and caregiver for her family.Survivors include one sister, Alma Clark of Huntington four daughters, Helen Steele of Ft. Gay, W.Va. Judy Brown and her husband John of Dansville, Mich., Wanda Dennis and her husband Jim of Niceville, Fla., and Carolyn Root of Ashland, Ky.; four sons, Roy Price and his wife Cinda of Huntington, Sherman Price and his wife Gladys of Genoa, W.Va., Daniel Lee Price of Mich., and George Price Jr. of East Lynn, W.Va.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Pamela Price of East Lynn; special friend Gayle Skeens; and a host of friends and family too numerous to mention.

MILDRED NADINE FINLEY, 82, of Waverly, Oh., formerly of Pecks Mill, W.Va., passed away Monday, January 5, 2009. She was born March 27, 1926 in Logan County, a daughter of the late Johnnie and Hattie White. Also preceding her in death were seven sisters: Lena Hall, Mable White, Rhoda Hamrich, Molly Jeffrey, Betty Adams, Atheline White, and Phyllis White; and two brothers, Orville White and Edgar White.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Finley of Waverly; one sister, Ernestine Akers of Lake, W.Va.; one daughter, Judy Manuse and husband John of Brunswick, Oh; two step-grandsons, several nieces and nephews, and friends and neighbors too numerous to mention.
