General Information

As a faith-based community, we are committed to ensuring that every qualified young woman has an opportunity for a St. Joseph’s Academy education. Our financial aid awards are based on financial need, taking into account assets, liabilities, income, expenses and the number of students attending fee-based schools. We encourage families that have special circ*mstances to bring it to our attention. Each student’s award decision is unique based on the information provided.

Over 35% of students receive financial aid, ranging from $1,000 to full tuition. This year, we were able to award financial aid to all families that qualified. Financial aid awards may include some work grants. Families must re-apply each year through FACTS Grant and Aid.

Leaders in Diversity Scholarship

Tuition, Financial Aid & Scholarships - St. Joseph's Academy (4)

At St. Joseph’s Academy, the essence of unifying love and living in right relationship espoused by our foundresses, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cardondelet (CSJ), are the bedrock for our programs surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion.

As a CSJ institution, we are called to move always “toward the love of God and the love of neighbor without distinction.” Throughout our history, the CSJs have “served the Dear Neighbor,” who may be of another culture, ethnicity, race, age, socioeconomic circ*mstance, or faith. This spirit and call to inclusive action continue to be expressed today, as we live out our school motto, “Not I, But We.” Christ calls each of us to love others, to be merciful as God is merciful; as a school community, we are called to do the same.

St. Joseph’s Academy’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion summons our community to recognize and to acknowledge the dignity of all people created in the image of God: acknowledging that each person brings many gifts to the community. We strive to exhibit a humility that engenders empathy and understanding, and to answer God’s call to develop a deeper sense of value and inclusivity as it relates to gender, race, faith, and socioeconomic circ*mstances, as well as individual talents and learning styles in a college preparatory environment.

In recognition of this work, St. Joseph’s Academy is proud to announce our Leaders in Diversity Scholarship Program, which recognizes applicant students who are:

  • 8th grade students of color
  • Academically strong, as demonstrated by the student’s academic transcript
  • Proven leaders in their communities
  • Volunteering and performing community service
  • Committed to active participation in our Student Diversity Club

To apply for this scholarship, applicants must choose St. Joseph’s Academy as their first-choice Catholic high school, and indicate on our application for admission their interest in this scholarship. The Admissions Office will send an additional form for the applicant to complete. Successful applicants will be invited to interview with the St. Joseph’s Academy Admissions Council and the Director of Diversity, Culture and Climate. Finalists will be chosen for this scholarship, benefits of which include:

  • A $3,000 Leaders in Diversity Scholarship, renewable each year she attends St. Joe and is considered in good standing at the end of each academic year
  • Active engagement in the Student Diversity Club
  • The opportunity to expand her leadership skills by regular involvement with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Frequent exposure to and opportunities to meet directly with the Director of Diversity, Culture, and Climate

Up to four (4) students will be awarded this scholarship per year. This scholarship is not based on financial need, and is supplemental to any additional academic scholarships and/or financial aid a student may receive as part of the St. Joseph’s Academy admissions process.
