The Challenge: Trouble in Paradise (2024)

Trouble in Paradise is the second season of RealityMist. This season follows twenty-one rookies competing alongside nine alumni in a Garden of Eden-themed pairs game for $500,000. The season was filmed in Vienna, Austria from 11th June to 3rd July.

Description

This June, RealityMist returns for it’s second season. New faces and alumni enter the Garden of Eden, but with lies, betrayal, temptations: who will rise to the heavens and who will be banished from the garden?

Format

Each duo participates in numerous challenges, followed by elimination rounds known as "Purgatory". The winning duo of each challenge become the "Messiahs" and are safe from elimination, while the last-place finisher is automatically sent to Purgatory. Prior to the house vote, the Messiahs can select another duo to become their "Disciples", granting them safety from being voted. The rest of the house will then vote another duo into Purgatory. Each duo in Purgatory will participate in a draw. One participant will pull a red apple and the other will pull a rotten apple. The participants who pull the rotten apples will compete in the elimination round. The duo who wins the elimination round returns to the game while the losing team is eliminated from the game.

In the Final Challenge, three duos will compete. The prize money splits as follows:

• Winners: $350,000 ($175,000 each)
• Runner-Ups: $100,000 ($50,000 each)
• Third Place: $50,000 ($25,000 each)

Twists

• The Disciples: The Messiahs have the opportunity to name another duo as their Disciples. This duo will be immune from the house vote and cannot be sent into Purgatory.
• Apple Picking: At the Apple Picking Ceremony, the two duos in Purgatory must nominate a member of their duo to pull a curtain. If the curtain reveals a rotten apple, that member of the duo will be competing in the elimination.
• Lifesaver: A Lifesaver advantage was implemented into the game in Episode 4. The winners had the opportunity to veto the Messiah's chosen Disciples for the next three upcoming episodes.
  • Double Elimination: A double elimination took place in Episode 6.
