Welcome!
Hi Cody - welcome to RR!
You will find much of what you are after in the database of this same website; Niagara County, Ontario (ON) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Good luck and happy listening!

Hi Cody. In order to listen to the Niagara EMS you will need a trunk tracking scanner.
There talkgroups can be monitored off the Fonthill and Niagara Falls (Skylon) towers on the Ontario Government Fleetnet system. Occasionally you can hear them off the Hamilton (Charlton) tower.
I used to listen to the various fire departments in your region, I assume the frequency's listed are correct.
You are SOL when it comes to Niagara Police, they are encrypted and unscannable.

Could a Uniden BC95XLT be considered a Trunk Tracking Scanner?
If not, then what would the cheapest Trunk Tracking Scanner be? ... on a budget

Sorry Cody but that scanner will not track the EMS system.
You should be good to go though for the Fire Department and other non trunked stuff - including civilian and commercial aircraft.
Here is a description of your radios features BC95XLT - The RadioReference Wiki There is a link (all words in blue lettering on RR are links) near the bottom of the page to a .pdf manual for it in case you do not have one.
Your scanner may be a little older, but it has features that I could only dream about when I was starting out 20 years ago.
Happy listening!

if you program all your closest fleetnet tower freq you can still hear analog ems and mto transmissions however you will ether hear dead air or noise because of digital transmissions when opp is using their talkgroups when that happens just hit you scan button to skip that freq but don't lock it out that is what i am doing when i am listening to lambton ems and mto from my pro 90 that does not track fleetnet

Apart from that, I understand that it is not a Trunk Tracker, however will it work at Air Shows to hear all the performers?

I purchased my scanner today. Within the first 5 minutes I heard an MVC in Lincoln. Car hit a tree.
Just wondering.....
Someone mentioned that I can get some EMS Feeds on 149.440 .
I've had it on all day, and I've had approx. 15 Hamilton EMS Calls. I live near West Lincoln hospital and I see EMS every day... I haven't seen any yet today and I'm wondering maybe that's why. Might I get some Niagara EMS Feeds on 149.440?

try entering these frequencies. They are mobile repeaters on the ambulances. they are conventional frequency and will work on your scanner.
